William Holt
William has always had a hard time sitting still. His careers and passions have taken him to ten countries and counting, and his résumé reads like several people’s stitched together: choir director, professional singer, pipe organ builder, piano technician, AV tech, salesman, CRM manager, and now digital marketer. The common thread is less random than it looks. Every one of those jobs comes down to getting the right people in the room.
Raised in east Texas, William trained in voice and choral conducting at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, then spent three years as Director of Worship at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, leading a 30-voice choir through three services every Sunday. From there he moved to Atlanta and Cooper Piano, starting on the sales floor and working up to Assistant Service Manager, where he looked after more than two hundred pianos, from trade-ins to high-end concert instruments. He couldn’t stay away from the podium for long, though, and stepped in as interim choir director at Marietta First UMC on the side.
Curiosity about the instruments themselves took him west to San Francisco and the factory at Schoenstein & Co., one of America’s great pipe organ builders. Two years later he crossed the Pacific to Melbourne, Australia, where he runs sales and service at Stewart Kelly House of Pianos. He sings as a Choral Scholar at Christ Church South Yarra, performs with the chamber choir Polyphonic Voices, and picks up the baton for Melbourne choirs whenever duty calls. He’s stood on stage counting empty seats, and he’s sat behind the sales desk wondering why a good campaign didn’t land.
That’s the gap Promote My Concert fills. Most venues can make a great ad. What they don’t have is the time to figure out where it should run, who it should reach, and when it should go out, and without that, great ads fall flat. William’s job is to take that off their plate and show them exactly who’s seeing their shows.
He’d love to hear about your venue: what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’d do with a fuller room. When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him in the kitchen or losing golf balls.
